Harold C. "Hal" Wiseman, 84, of Sun City, passed away on August 21,
2005, after a courageous battle against melanoma. Hal was born on May 30, 1921, in Ladora, Iowa, to Harold Cook and Lula Wiseman. He spent his early years in Iowa and Missouri, graduating from Northwest Missouri State University in 1944, and he served in the U.S Navy as a Lieutenant during World War II. He spent his career in the auto and finance industries, retiring in 1983. Hal was a member of the Elks Club, Sun City RV Travel Club, and Lakeview United Methodist Church.
Hal was predeceased by his parents, his brother Richard A. Wiseman, and daughter-in-law Doreen A. Wiseman. His survivors include: Alta Jane, his wife of 57 years; daughter Jane Benedict (John) of Tempe, sons Thomas H. (Karen) of Richardson, TX, and Philip R. of Sunnyvale, CA; and six granddaughters Jaime Wiseman Grassi (Alex), Grapevine, TX; Julie Benedict, Phoenix; Kelly Benedict, Tucson; Sara Wiseman, Fayetteville, AR; Alexandra Wiseman, Richardson, TX; and Annie Wiseman, Sunnyvale, CA. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Hattie Mae Wiseman, Ellicott City, MD, and brother-in-law Dr. Max P. Jones of St. Simon Isle, GA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 103rd Ave. and Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, on Saturday, August 27, at 11 AM, with visitation at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunshine Service, 9980 Santa Fe Dr., Sun City, AZ 85351, or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
