Paul (Pete) Rhodes, 86, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 23, 2017.
Paul was a lifelong resident of Northwest Ohio, having been born and raised in Van Wert, Ohio. After high school he joined the Army, 1st Infantry Division, and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return he met the love of his life Janice Rhodes (Hankish) of Bluffton Ohio.
He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Education. Paul started his career as a physical education teacher, sixth grade teacher, and then returned to earn his Master’s Degree, and became a Principal. His final years in education were spent as a library coordinator for an area school system.
In addition to his wife and son Jay, Paul’s passions were music, cars, and a good meal. He was a proficient drummer, always attending jazz and big band concerts in the Toledo area. His lifelong love of new cars was legendary among friends, relatives and select car dealers. The bigger the engine, the wider the tires, the better.
Paul’s passing was preceded by his wife of 52 years,Janice. He is survived by his son, Jay and Sue (Weber) of Sherwood, Wisconsin, as well as many nephews and nieces.
