He is survived by his wife JoAnn of 47 years, brothers, Carl & Tom Krause of Detroit. Brothers-in-law, LeRoy Frerichs and wife Shirley of Beatrice, NE and, Larry Hages, of Detroit, niece Elizabeth Hages McGowan of Detroit, nephews, Luke Hages of Detroit, Tom Frerichs of Spokane, WA and a grand-nephew, Elijah McGowan of Detroit. He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Eleanor (Durkatz) Krause and a sister Ann (Krause) Hages. Dave grew up in Detroit where he joined the Air Force after high school graduation. He worked as a Radio Repairman for the Strategic Air Command in Nebraska where he married JoAnn. After Dave's tour of duty with the Air Force ended in 1970, he attended the University of Nebraska and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1975 he was selected to participate in the Defense Supply Agency in Quality Assurance Staff Development Program as a Quality Assurance Engineer. Dave interned at DCASR St. Louis for 2 1/2 years. In 1978 he transferred to DCMAO Dayton where he finished his internship and received a permanent Quality Assurance Engineer position. Dave retired from Government Civil Service in 2002.
