Brenda Kay Saunders, age 59, of Moriah Road, Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Thursday morning June 10, 2010 from a lingering illness at her residence. She was born in Jefferson Township, Oak Hill, Ohio on February 10, 1951 to the late Charles Franklin and Clara Viola (Caldwell) Canter. She was one of 15 children. She was a a homemaker and enjoyed being around family and friends especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Olen Saunders; two children, Susan (David) McCain and Jamie (Beth) Saunders both of Oak Hill, Ohio; four sisters, Nettie (Carl) Cooper, Freda Woods both of Oak Hill, Ohio, Shirley McCain of Hicksville, Ohio and Mary Jane Woods of Heartland of Jackson, Three brothers, Carl (Linda( Canter and Donald Canter both of Oak Hill, Ohio and Eddie Canter of Lucasville, Ohio. Six grandchildren; Justin, (Liranda) McCain, Pete McCain , Angel McCain, Jamie Saunders Jr., Mason Saunders all of Oak Hill, Ohio and Brittany Saunders of Chillicothe, Ohio and one step-grandchild, Devin Yeager of Oak Hill, Ohio. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Besides her parents, she was preceded by the following sisters, and brothers; Betty Canter, Ruby Canter, Elizabeth Canter, Robert Canter, Lottie Hughes, Everett Canter and Phillip Canter.
Funeral service 1 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Kuhner Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Stewart officiating burial to follow in C. M. Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the funeral home.
