Charles William Adams was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Wittenberg, MO to Lawrence and Edna (Wilson) Adams. His siblings include Marvella Beard of Murphysboro; Oliver (Bobbie) Adams of North Chicago; Carl Adams of Everett, WA; Earl (Rachel) Adams of Pulaski; and Raymond (Carol) Adams of Flora, IN. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.

He married Anna Douglas on April 10, 1948. She survived him.

Mr. Adams worked for Clarence Ward service station for 10 years and GMO Railroad for 12 years. In 1958, he began working for the Fish and Wildlife Refuge. He retired in October, 1991.

He was a member, dean and Sunday school superintendent at Mount Gilead Baptist Church and he was a Navy veteran.

Mr. Williams died at the age of 66 on Wednesday, April 28, 1993, in St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. His funeral service was held at Mount Gilead Baptist church. Rev. Villa Hall officiated. Jackson Funeral Home (Carbondale) was in charge of arrangements.
