She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Leila (Mickley) Sites.
Mrs. McDannell was a life member, former Sunday school superintendent and teacher of the Mount Hope United Methodist Church, Fairfield and was also active with the church's Ladies Aid Society. She was a member of the Fairfield Senior Citizens, where she was very active; Fairfield AmVets Auxiliary; Thurmont, MD, American Legion Auxiliary; and a life member of the Greencastle VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Merle J. McDannell; two daughters, Cynthia L. and Lois N. McDannell, both of Harrisburg; one brother, William Sites of Fairfield; three sisters, Lelia Mae Hemler of York, Ruth Jean Hammond of Chambersburg, and Vonnie Lee Barber of South Weymouth, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Heare, who departed this world in 2006.
