Lillian was born on Nov. 21, 1909 in Clay County, Kentucky to Thomas and Eliza (Hoskins) Smith. Her family moved to Peoria when Lillian was eight years old. She married Charles F. Goodale on June 28, 1936 in Peoria and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1956. On December 31, 1958 she married George W. Florey and he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1961. Also preceding her in death are her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and one son, Charles D. Goodale.
Surviving are one son, Alan F. (Linda) Goodale of Germantown Hills, IL; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Goodale of O'Fallon, IL; one sister, Elba Gutekunst of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Lillian was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, where she worked in Special Education. For many years she was field manager of Dutchmaid, Inc. She was also a member of the Ladies League at Youth Farm as well as Super Seniors at the Christian Center in Peoria. She was very much interested in helping children in need.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Feb.28, 2017 at 10 am at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. Allen Payne will be officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or Proctor Endowment Home. Online condolences may be made through www.thewiltonmortuary.com
