Mark Daniel Montgomery, age 34, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from complications of a sudden illness that led to respiratory arrest.

Mark was born March 12, 1982, the tenth child of Byron and Catherine Montgomery of North Ogden. He embraced his rural roots, where he cultivated many lifelong friendships. Mark graduated from Weber High School and later served a mission for the LDS Church in Utica, New York, an experience which had a profound impact on his life.

Mark graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. For the past seven years, he worked for Intermountain Healthcare, where he loved his work and was known for his skill and dedication.

Mark enlisted in the Utah National Guard after graduating from the Weber State ROTC program as an officer. He was a Captain in the Medical Command Unit, where he served as a medic. Mark was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many teaching capacities.

While attending WSU, Mark met the love his life, Michelle Hill. They were married on August 15, 2009 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He is the loving father of two sons, Harvey Mark (3) and Fletch Daniel (2). He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first daughter, Laney. Family meant everything to him and he bragged about them often.

Mark treasured making memories and being with those he loved most. He loved his truck, riding motorcycles with his brothers, skiing, skydiving, and any and all roller coasters. He had the ability to quote movies with perfection. His friends and family will dearly miss his smile and big blue eyes, his sense of humor, his laughing, joking, and impeccable comedic timing.

Mark's legacy continues in his wife, two sons, and baby daughter due in May. He is survived by his parents and nine siblings, Gordon (Tammy) Montgomery, Melissa (Marv) Vail, Beth (Doug) Gosney, Jeffrey (Dawna) Montgomery, Scott (Kim) Montgomery, Jennie (Daren) Turner, Melanie (Steve) Brenchley, David (Tracy) Montgomery, and Robin (Evan) Jamison. He is also survived by his wonderful in-laws, Doug and Sandra Hill, of Murray; and Michelle's siblings, Jessica (Shane) DeMill, Alex Hill, and Parker Hill. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph K. and Thelma Montgomery and G. Dale and Emma Brown.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Highland Ward Building, 932 Greenoaks Drive, Murray. Funeral services will be held in the Highland Ward Chapel on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Murray City Cemetery.

God be with you till we meet again, Mark.
