Peggy Ann Franks, 74, of Port Byron, IL, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM on Tuesday, February 28th at The Apostolic Sanctuary, 1501 John Deere Parkway, in Silvis. The funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM following visitation. Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 1st at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Those wishing to attend the graveside service should meet at The Apostolic Sanctuary at 11:00 AM Wednesday to join the procession. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, The Apostolic Church or Beacon of Hope Hospice. Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron is responsible for arrangements.

Peggy was born August 3, 1942 in Sulligent, Alabama, the daughter of William and Altha (Jeffreys) Warren. She married Jimmy H. Franks on August 10, 1959 in Marion County, Alabama. Peggy and Jimmy settled in the Quad Cities and she worked for the East Moline Schools as a custodian, retiring 1997. Peggy was a member of The Apostolic Sanctuary in Silvis for 45 years. She had the honor of being Grandma Franks to many in her church family. She loved shopping, sewing and traveling. She will also always be remembered for her many beautiful cake and corsage creations. Most of all, she loved her church and her family.

Peggy is survived by her husband Jimmy, Sr.; daughter, Tina and (Donna) Green of Moline; son, Jimmy Franks, Jr., Cordova and his special friend, Lori Willhite of East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Seales and brother, Harold Warren.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers and staff of Beacon of Hope Hospice for their compassionate care of Peggy.
