Margaret “Margie” Susan Bond passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the age of 72 years. She was born on September 4, 1944, in Manhattan, New York to George “Pop-Pop” and Susan “Nana” Reiser. On February 23, 1963, she married Frederick Bond in New York City. Margie has resided in Katy for the last 40 years, where she volunteered and was later employed for 22 years at West Memorial Elementary School. Many may also remember Margie for her ten-plus years of service at Walgreens on Mason Road. She was a parishioner at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, and was active in the Katy Elks Lady’s Auxiliary, having been named to Lodge’s first-ever Sweetheart!
Margie is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Fred Bond of Katy; daughters, Kelly Bond of Houston, Texas; and Laurie Edsall and her wife Terri of Waynesboro, Virginia; sister, Anna Marie McDonald and her husband Craig of Madisonville, Texas; brother, Dennis Walsh and his wife Peggy of Katy; her 18 beloved cats and grand-cats; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick G. Bond, Jr.; and her parents, George and Susan Reiser.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, in Katy, where mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Christopher Plant, Celebrant. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery. A reception will then be held at the Parish Hall at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
