Passed away suddenly on February 23, 2017 with his family by his side.

Born in Wilmington, Wayne was a graduate of Wilmington High School where he was the co-captain of the football team and played in the Delaware Blue-Gold Football game in 1958. Wayne proudly served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves.

He along with his brother owned and operated Morrison's Service Station for 38 years. After retiring he worked for Hoopes Fire Extinguisher Service, which he enjoyed immensely. Wayne was an avid Eagles fan and loved playing golf, bowling and softball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. and Minerva W. Morrison; his brother, Stephen A. Morrison; and his sister, Leslie Gardener.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alice; his daughter, Julie A. Sawyer (Richard) of Riverview, FL; his son, Robert W. Morrison (Nicole) of Pike Creek; and his granddaughters, Megan and Rachel Morrison. He is also survived by his sisters, Jacqueline A. Garrabrant of Illinois and Deborah Pepe of North Carolina, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for Wayne at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Wednesday, Mar 1 at 10:00am. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, Feb 28 from 6:00-8:00pm. Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Wayne's name to the Delaware Humane Society, 701 A St., Wilm., DE 19801.
