OBITUARY: MORRIS, Virgil Wesley "Wes"
Was born on March 30, 1946, and entered into rest on February 23, 2017.

Wes loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. As a child, he and his family would spend entire summers moving from one campground to the next in search of adventure.

He graduated from Wilbur H.S. in 1964, where he was a drummer in the band, and carried his love for music throughout his life.

Wes was a sailor, and retired after spending 21 years in the U.S. Navy. He traveled all over the world, and was always eager to share his stories.

After his retirement, Wes went to Saudi Arabia and worked as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Government.

Later he moved to Odessa, WA to be close to his children, before making his final home in Spokane Valley, WA.

Wes is survived by his children Mark (Julie) Morris, Carrie (George) Crow, Julie (Kevin) Pereira; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Dean (Cheryl) Merrill, Gene (Barbara) Merrill, Doug (Yolanda) Marshall, Steve Marshall, Sharon (Gregg) Greenwald, Eddy Marshall; 15 nieces and nephews, and 16 great-nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Valley Pines Retirement Home, Good Samaritan Skilled Nursing Home, and Kindred Hospice for the care and compassion given to Wes during his final days.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1:15pm, Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA.
