He was born February 24, 1959 in Hampton, VA and was a son to the late Ivan Earl and Irene Rhoads Beckwith.
Darel was a contractor and a member of Truth and Grace Church in Broadway. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
On June 27, 1981 he married the former Barbara Avgolaus, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Amanda Beckwith, of Charlottesville, and Miriam Beckwith, of Singers Glen; two brothers, David and Doug Beckwith; and a sister, Lorrie Beckwith.
He was preceded in death by four children, Sarah Jo Beckwith, Elizabeth Ann Beckwith, Jonathan Rhoads Beckwith, and Hannah Joy Beckwith; a brother, Scott Beckwith; and a sister, Dounia Beckwith.
Pastor Tim Martin will conduct a memorial service 7:00 PM Friday at Cornerstone Church of Broadway.
His body was cremated.
