John L. Vining, 73, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and formerly of rural Bourbon, Ind. passed at 6:40 am, Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Naperville, Illinois after a short illness.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1943 in Warsaw, Indiana to Willard “Bill” D. and Mary (Yocum) Vining.

He married on May 6, 1967 at the Talma Bible Church to Alice M. Stavedahl, she survives.

John retired from Regular Baptist Press of Schaumburg, Ill.

He was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School in 1961 and graduated from Manchester College in 1965. He then acquired his CPA from the University of Illinois. He served in the National Guard as a part of the Army and Air Force. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Winfield, Ill.
