Vickie and her older sister grew up in Denver and attended West High School in the 1960’s. Vickie gave birth to her only child in August of 1970. She spent much of her youth working in road construction until the late 1980’s, when she went to work at North Suburban Medical Center as a nurse on the geriatric psych ward. On July 9, 1983, she married her soulmate, Paul Remley Welch, after a courtship of seven years. They shared 32 amazing years together until his death in January 2009. She battled laryngeal cancer in 2015 and 2016, and did beat it, but never regained her full strength. She did her best to be happy and active and to spoil her only great-granddaughter, Remley Anne. She was hard-working and fiercely protective of her friends and family. Survivors included: sister Jenny (Joel) Streed of Parker; daughter Carrie Ann Riddle (Steve) Sutterlin of Brighton; and granddaughters Shelby (Brian Jr.) Sanders, and Amber Sutterlin. Funeral Service held March 1st at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home.
