Sacred to the memory of/ Laura,/ late companion of/ Stephen MILES, and third/ daughter of
the late Eli-/ jah SPAFFORD.- her happy/ soul took its flight on the 31st/ of July, 1821, (her
birthday) age-/d 27 years./ A few minutes before she/ breathed her last, she was/ heard to
whisper the blessed/ name of/ "Jesus! Jesus!"/ My husband children and friends whom I
love,/ "My suffering's are over, my treasure's above; Prepare then to meet me on Cannan's
blest shore,/ Where kindred join kindred, parting's no more./
