Robert Elliot Friend, 50, of Port Saint Lucie, FL passed away February 25, 2017 surrounded by his family. Robert was born May 14, 1966 in Manhattan, NY; he lived in Sparta, NJ before coming to Port Saint Lucie in 2007. Robert enjoyed many things in life, including his love for teaching, the restoration of antique muscle cars, any project that involved hands-on skills, and his membership to the Treasure Coast Vintage Car Club, however, his greatest joy was his family and pets.
Robert is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 25 years, Lisa Friend; son, Andrew Friend; parents, Woody and Shirley-Ann Friend; brother, Philip Friend (Jamie); sister, Judy Gottschalk (Robert); nieces and nephews, Matthew and Scott Friend, Alex and Sara Gottschalk; mother in-law, Arlene Teichberg; father in-law, Saul and Lora Teichberg; brother in-law, Glenn Teichberg, Jason Borenstein, Jonathon Teichberg, Josh Borenstein (Kate); nieces, Naomi and Sophia.
A graveside service will be officiated by Rabbi Shafir Lobb on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 2:30pm, Rolling Oaks Cemetery, Port Saint Lucie. The family will be sitting for Shiva Tuesday, February 28 and Wednesday, March 1; visitors are welcome from 3pm to 7pm, a service will begin at 7pm.
