After 81 years of vivacious life, Dee Watson, passed away February 23, 2017, in Alvin, Texas.

Dee was born April 18, 1935 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Herbert and Bee Croft.

She later moved and graduated high school in San Antonio, Texas and then attended the University of Texas at Austin.

Introduced by a blind date organized by their parents, Dee married her best friend and soul mate, James Watson on June 18, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. Their travels together were immeasurable and left behind a legacy of exciting adventures. Their family of six lived along the California and Texas Coast and later resided in Alvin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Bee Croft; her husband, James T. Watson; and her son, Richard A. Watson.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Kim Watson Follmar; sons, Thomas C. Watson and daughter-in-law Mary Beth Watson of Spring TX and David S. Watson and daughter-in-law Terry Watson of Longview TX; sister, Barbara Perritte; nephew, Steven and Judy Jones of Dallas TX; niece, Aleene Jones Zurobski of Sherman TX; grandchildren, Lauren Gandolfo and husband Sean Gandolfo, Lane Yahchouchi and husband Youssef Yahchouchi, Zach Gillen and wife April Gillen, Travis Watson and wife Laura Watson, Ryan Watson and wife Brandy Watson, Jared Watson and wife Jeehye Watson, Lauren and husband Jason Mims, Lindsay and husband James Keeton, Kristen Varon and Mel Varon; great grandchildren, Malia, Marley and Chaz Gillen, Tye and Tommy Watson, Koda and Chase Watson, Liam Yahchouchi, Ashelynn, Sloane and Barrett Mimms; and many other relatives and cherished friends.

Dee and Jim spent many years in Coos Bay, Oregon- while enjoying their summer home. Her favorite activities involved family, friends, swimming, playing cards, and traveling. Her cheerful, happy spirit will forever be in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 with Rev. Jerry Stark officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made in her memory to MD Anderson Hospital at www.mdanderson.org or The Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org or the Benjamin Garcia Memorial Fund at www.purplemonkeyfunrun.com.
