JANET COE COOK CARROLL, 88, of New Castle, NH, died at home after a courageous battle with dementia on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

She was born in Worcester, MA, the daughter of the late Robert Howe Coe and Janet Briggs Coe. She was the widow of Marshall Carroll.

Janet attended The Bancroft School for twelve years, then graduated from Miss Porter's School in Farmington, CT. She attended Pine Manor for one year, then Salters in Worcester. She was a successful member of a twelve step program for over 30 years. She loved playing piano, tennis, reading plays, mostly of the 1940s, and cooking. Her ancestor Matthew Coe settled in Portsmouth, NH, in 1645. She was a direct descendant of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins of Duxbury, MA.

She is survived by her beloved son, Jeffrey D. Cook, and his wife, Caroline, of New Castle NH; two step-daughters, Cynthia Carroll of Parsonsfield, ME, and Penelope Dickson of Bolton, MA, two step-grandchildren of Bolton, MA, and five nephews and two nieces. Her daughter, Elizabeth H. Coe, pre-deceased her in 1972; she was also pre-deceased by her sister and three brothers.
