Peggy Jo Friday (Goral), 66, has ended her journey here on earth and has joined the angels in heaven.
Peggy was born on June 12, 1949 in Cheboygan, the daughter of August “Gus” and Dorothy (Baller) Goral. She died in Lincoln, California on June 6, 2016, in her daughter’s arms.
Peggy married Thomas J. Friday and lived in Cheboygan for many years.
They are survived by their three children and seven grandchildren.
Peggy was a blessing to everyone that knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, strength, patience, determination, forgiveness, and wisdom. She cherished the warmth of the sun on her face, the soft breeze blowing, the newly fallen snow, the orchestra of the birds, the beauty in all her surroundings, and she enthusiastically encouraged others to do the same. Peggy was constantly smiling and thanking God for all of life’s blessings. Peggy proved all things are possible when you believe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Friday, her parents, August and Dorothy (Baller) Goral, two sisters, Patsy (Goral) O’Brien and Linda (Goral) Carpenter; two brother-in-laws, Donald Lyons, and Joseph O’Brien, sister-in-law, Diane Goral, and nephew Dean Lyons.
Peggy will be deeply missed by her two sons, Thomas Friday and Michael Friday and his wife Rachelle (Deitze) Friday; daughter, Michele (Friday) Dawson and her husband Matt Dawson; seven grandchildren, Raylie, Mia, Sienna, and Jack Dawson and Dakota, Sierra, and Cheyenne Friday; her siblings, Bob Goral and his wife Doris, Donna (Goral) Michael and her husband David, Jim Goral, and Jacqueline (Goral) Knight and her husband Richard.
A service to celebrate Peggy’s life was held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Cheboygan. Burial was at Munro Township Cemetery.
