Catherine met Donald Cunningham during WWII, married him on January 23, 1943, and enjoyed 37 wonderful years of marriage. Don predeceased her September 27, 1980.
She was a member of St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was very active in her church and her children’s school. Her faith was very important to her, practicing daily through Mass attendance and the Rosary. She often helped others with various activities but especially baking, her blond brownies being the best. Catherine enjoyed camping with her family, fishing, and was also a member of a life-long card club consisting of school mates.
Surviving are her children: Kathleen Rabideau, Donald (Georgia) Cunningham, and Richard (Ruth) Cunningham; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Angelia Rabideau, and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church 4735 W. Michigan. Rev. Steve Gavit and Rev. Jack Johnson will officiate. Friends may call at the Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
