JOSEPH M. THRASHER JR., 72, of Siler City, N.C., formerly of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his home. Born Dec. 5, 1940, in Bloomington, he was a son of the late Joseph and Crystal Thrasher. He was a veteran servicing with the U.S. Marine Corps. Joe worked at Slater Steel for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Joe spent his retirement as a campground host at State Parks in Louisiana and N. Dakota. He enjoyed golf, fishing and tending to his gardens.
