Alice “Jean” DesJardin, age 80, of Lake, passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, at Northwoods Nursing Cventer in Farwell. She was born the daughter of Hirst and Zelda (VanHoose) Bailey on Jan. 30, 1928 in Thealka, Kentucky. She married Wilfred DesJardin on Nov. 17, 1978 in Inkster. She was retired from Pepsi Cola. Jean enjoyed reading, crafting, gardening, swimming, and had a flair for decorating.
She is survived by her husband “Willy”; daughters, Gena (Jerry) Miklos of Adrian, Robin (Dave) Olley of Lake; brothers, Dave (Sabra) Bailey, Ferrell (Mary) Bailey; sisters, Ponnie (Ed) Prucnell, Jennie (Joe) Klug, Martha Ward and Faye Music. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her brothers Fred, Wadssie, and Charles Bailey and her sister Bula Alley preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 11 AM from the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Homes. Friends may meet with her family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM until the service. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
