Roger Brian Dodd was born to Ethel and William J. Dodd on December 23, 1932 in Delta, Colorado.

He attended schools in Delta, where he was involved in many activities including sports, music, and student government. He graduated from Delta High School in 1951.

Roger attended CU for one year and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He graduated from Mesa Jr. College in 1953.

Roger met the love of his life, Wanda Franklin, right before he enlisted in US Army in 1954, where he served in communications in Germany until 1956.

Upon returning to Delta he joined his father in the farming industry. On November 9, 1957 he married Wanda Franklin and together they raised four daughters.

Roger was successful in every area of life. He raised cattle, sugar beets, and barley. He was a Potato Growers Board Member, a Tri County Water Board Member for 34 years, and served 12 years on Delta County Planning Commission. He received the "Coors Grower of the Year" award for two years. Roger was a lifetime member of the Elks.

Spending time with God, family, and friends was his greatest joy. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, and following sports of all kinds; he never missed the kids' or grandkids' games.

Roger is survived by his wife, Wanda; his four daughters: Ronda (Rex) Baker, Diane (Rocky) Baker, Crystal (Randy) Brew, and Peggy Jo (James) Pauls; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Delta Museum at 251 Meeker St. Delta, CO 81416 or Hope West Hospice at PO Box 24, Delta, CO 81416, Delta Christian Church 795 1600 Rd. Delta, CO 81416.

Funeral Services for Roger will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Delta Christian Church in Delta, Colorado.

Interment will follow at Delta City Cemetery.
