Dora Fern Ogle, 93, passed away on February 23, 2017 at Astoria Place in Cambridge.
Fern was born on July 9, 1923 in St. Marys, West Virginia to the late William "John" Anderson and Clara Maude (Jamison) Cross. Fern and her husband, Willis, owned and operated Ogle's Restaurant in Dexter City and in Macksburg, Ohio from 1957 through 1978, when they sold the restaurant and retired to Florida. They later returned to Cambridge, Ohio, in 1993. Fern was a member of The Salvation Army, The First United Methodist Church of Cambridge; active in the Church choir, Come by Here Circle and organizing salad luncheons and dinners. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and wonderful cook. Fern appreciated her Cambridge and Caldwell friends and enjoyed her Bridge and Golf.
Fern is survived by three sons: David (Carolee) Ogle of Cambridge, OH, John (Elaine) Ogle of Mason, WV, and Steve Ogle of Woodsfield, OH; Four grandsons: Matt, Dylan, Ben, and Troy Ogle; four granddaughters: Michelle Richard Schultze, Heather Stepes, Allison (Mike) Corner, and Shelley Ogle; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for Fern on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 641 Steubenville Ave, Cambridge, Ohio 43725 with the Rev. Max Beery officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fern's name to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1166 641 Steubenville Ave. Cambridge, Ohio 43725; or Salvation Army, P.O. Box 254 221 Dewey Ave. Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
A family Burial service will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, Ohio at a later date.
