Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Gene Daniel, age 77, of Conover, NC will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Mr. Daniel passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC.
Kenneth was born in Lynchburg, TN, the son of the late Haywood and Mary Anna Ross Daniel. A native of Franklin County, TN, he had resided in middle TN for many years, and finally settling in Conover, NC for the past 20 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served from 1966-1972 in the United States Army and received many medals, including the Bronze Star Medal with Valor Device. He was a construction contractor and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda Woods. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Brown Daniel; four daughters, Kelly (Brad) Sanders, Kelsey (Julian) Metter, Ketah (Andrew) White, Karen (Jeff) Evers; one son, Kenneth (Phyllis) Daniel, Jr. one sister, Ada Mae Brown; and 14 grandchildren.
