He was born in Patrick County on February 21, 1932 and was a son of the late Perry and Mary Alice Harold Bowman.
He was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Faith Destiny Bowman; and two brothers: Marvin and Joseph Bowman.
He was retired from Balliston Knitting (formerly Oakdale Knitting) in Mount Airy and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Surviving are two daughters: Lynn Rose of Archdale, N.C., and Danette Bowman of Trinity, N.C.; five sisters: Etta Stanley and Effie Sawyers, both of Ararat, Edith Sawyers and Elaine Draughn, both of Mount Airy, and Theresa Stanley of Ararat; three brothers: Malcolm Bowman and Clyde Bowman, both of Ararat, and Joe Bill Bowman of Gastonia, N.C.; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Howell Funeral Services chapel in Mount Airy. The Rev. H.O. Jenkins and Deward Scott officiated. Burial was in the Harold Hill family cemetery in Ararat.
