He was born December 31, 1954 in Bristol, Tenn., a son of the late John and Deloris Kessee Almany.
Rick was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area. He was owner/operator of Rick Almany Painting. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy, Johnny and Bobby Almany; and sister, Phyllis Medlin.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Vipperman Almany; sons, Gary Ricky Almany Jr., John Almany and wife Whitney, Aaron Tobey and wife Amy; daughters, Ami Taylor and husband John, and Mandy Tobey; grandchildren, Bobby, Elizabeth, Avery, Owen, Adilynne, Alex, Brittnee, Emilee, John “Dodee”, and Tobey “Coot”; sisters, Debbie Snowden and husband Don, Peggy Huffmon and husband John; brothers, Jerry Almany and wife Michelle, Randy Almany and wife Wanda, Tony Almany and wife Becky; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Dillard and Rev. Charlie Baker officiating.
The interment at Highpoint Cemetery with Rev. Rex Carter officiating.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
