Dennis W. Olsen, 77, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO. Dennis Wayne Olsen was born December 16, 1939 in Abilene, KS to the late Clayton E. Olsen and Alberta I. (Staatz) Olsen.

He graduated from Dickinson County Community High School in Kansas, Class of 1957. He worked for Guerrero Security in Oklahoma City, OK. Dennis married Connie E. Lancrain on December 9, 1983 in Oklahoma City, OK; she preceded him in death on January 23, 2014.

Survivors include three daughters, Leslie Ann Olsen, Tressa Lynn Murphy, and Rosemarie Heron; two sons, Dennis W. Olsen and Shawn Olsen; and one brother, Richard Olsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Donald Olsen and Clayton Olsen, and one sister, Joyce Ann Podolan.

Visitation will be held 1:30-2:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2017 at Knell Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Rev. James Schnackenberg will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
