Newaygo, MI James Howard Kellogg, 88, of Newaygo, passed away on February 22, 2017 in Big Rapids, Michigan. He was born on February 25, 1928 in Walker Township, Kent County, Michigan. He attended Fairview High School for 10 years and for years James worked as a Transportation Manager for The Grand Rapids Press until his retirement. On June 26, 1948 he married Colleen Harris in Grand Rapids and she preceded him in death in 2009. He was a veteran having served in the Navy during World War II. He was discharged as a Fireman First Class on January 16, 1948. He was a member of American Legion Post #381.

James is survived by his two sons: James (Mary) Kellogg of Newaygo, Tom (Shari) Kellogg of Newaygo; his daughter Cindy (Mike) Kiaunis of Grand Haven; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Tim Kellogg; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends. He was also preceded in death by his sons Scott Kellogg, John Kellogg, brothers Charlie Kellogg, Kelly Kellogg, Bob Kellogg.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 27, 2017, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services, Newaygo, with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 am with Pastor John Fields officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
