She was born October 19, 1921 in Somerset, Pa., a daughter of the late Clyde and Freda (Lape) Sevits.
Dorothy was raised and educated in the Painesville OH area. She was a long time member of the Alliance Church there. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, gardening, canning, being outdoors, puzzles and operated the family farm in Townville with her husband for 49 years. Dorothy was a kind and generous person who will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Maynard E. Collister, whom she married in February of 1948, also by a brother, Kenneth R. Sevits.
She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her daughters, Joyce M. Darr, Rebecca F. Collister; her granddaughter, Jennifer R. Tolbert (Brook) of Girard; two great grandchildren, Jacob R. and Alex E. Tolbert; two sisters, Ferne Speck and Thelma Clark also many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at the Kingsley Cemetery in Townville on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Brock Beveridge officiating.
