Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and she formerly worked at and retired from Danner's Department Store in Huntington, where she was a sales clerk. She was a former resident of Mt. Etna and was a 68-year member of the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church.

She was born in Wabash Co., Indiana, to Earl and Mary (Rivir) Stevens. After her parents divorce she was raised by John & Della Rivir, her mother's parents.

She married Gene Thompson on June 1, 1938 in Mt. Etna. Her husband preceded her in death July 20, 2002.

Survivors include five daughters, Sandra Eichhorn, Warren; Dianna Burman, Fort Wayne; Gloria Collins, Springfield, Ohio; Linda Davidson, Van Buren; and Debbie Spears, Etna Green; two sisters, Norma Jeanne Allen, Colorado Springs, Co.; Mary Jane Burnett, Virginia Beach, Va.; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include son, Michael (Tammy) Brawl, Owingsville, Ky.; daughter, Donna (Jimmy) Thompson, Jonesboro; sister, Woodrie (Dooley) Hollars, Tenn.; brother, Charles (Carol) Brawl, Norwalk , Calif.; caretaker, Kathy (Dail) Brooks; nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
