1943 June Quarter death registration-

Vickers Wellington (#MP618) aircraft, of 407 RCAF Squadron, which had taken flight from RAF Chivenor shortly after midnight, relayed a message two hours later that the aircraft would have to return to base due to engine trouble. Contact was maintained for over an hour but was it was lost when the Wellington neared Devon's Hartland Point [Hartland Point marks the western limit (on the English side) of the Bristol Channel, with the Atlantic Ocean continuing to the west]. Shortly after this loss of contact an aircraft was seen to crash in Morte Bay (on the northwest coast of Devon ) off Woolacombe. The six aircrew members on board lost their lives: four were lost at sea (missing) and the remains of the other two airmen were recovered.
The six Canadian airmen who perished in this accident were-
