Mark Alan Montgomery, 68, of Grand Junction, passed away under the care of HopeWest Hospice on February 21, 2017.

He was born July 18, 1948, to Elmer and Esther Montgomery in Denver, Colorado.

Mark is survived by his wife, Pam (Davis), of Grand Junction; son, Monte (Mikella), of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Sondra (Jack), of Montrose; grandchildren: Taylor and McKenzie, of Las Vegas, NV; and many friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He was a graduate of Montrose High School. After graduation, he served in the Army in Vietnam as an expert rifleman and as a helicopter repairman.

After his military service he moved to Grand Junction, Colorado and worked as a mechanic and truck driver.

His lifelong passions were golf, fishing, boating, camping, hunting and four-wheeling. He loved the outdoors.

A celebration of his life will be Friday, February 24, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, with military honors following at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

The family encourage donations be made in Mark's name to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado 81506.
