Victoria Louise Reece, 75, of Rigby, passed away at The Gardens of Rigby, Monday, February 20, 2017.
She was born November 23, 1941 in Miami, Florida, a daughter to Robert Beach Watters and Helen Louise Mochett Watters. She attended schools in Miami, Florida where she grew up. She had a love of horses and would clean stalls at the horse barn so that she could ride. She enjoyed riding Gated Horses. She also worked as a Professional Model in Miami.
She met the missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and after learning about the church was baptized. She met the Zone leader Edwin Craig Parkinson who interviewed her for baptism. After he returned to Pocatello from his mission they communicated by letter until they were able to get married April 20, 1963. She moved to Pocatello and for 20 years farmed with Craig until he passed away on December 31, 1986.
Vicki met Robert Dewey Reece while getting her car repaired at his shop. They started dating with the first 6 dates being with Mormon Missionaries teaching Bob the discussions. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married October 30, 1987. They built a home in Pocatello where they had a horse arena where Vicki trained horses for ten years. She put great effort into her love of art and was very good at what she did. She was instrumental in the Arts in Pocatello where she was founder and president of the Pocatello Art Center. She was a member of the Pastel Society of America and Signature Oil Painters of America. She excelled at many areas of art and with Bob traveled the world painting and teaching techniques in many countries. They had an opportunity to change occupations and sold their home in Pocatello and moved to Rigby.
She is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served wherever she was called. She and Bob served 2 missions for the church in the Farmington New Mexico mission from 2010 to 2012. They were instrumental in teaching gardening techniques to the Navajo people. She also taught art classes as well.
She enjoyed art of any kind, training and riding horses, camping and fishing.
She is survived by her husband Bob Reece of Rigby, two daughters; Karla Brower of Idaho Falls and Paula Prince of Rigby, two sons; Christopher (Heather) Parkinson of Kennewick, Washington and Ryan (Jennifer) Parkinson of Idaho Falls, a sister Robin (Jim) McKee of Spokane, Washington, eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Craig Parkinson.
The family will have a service at a later date in California.
