CASEY, Raymond Pierce
January 2, 1933 -
February 18, 2017

Our beloved father and papa passed away in the early morning hours of February 18, 2017. Raymond (Ray) Pierce Casey was born January 2, 1933 in Webster County, Georgia to Annie and Herman Lee Casey. He was the youngest of four children (Frances, Jiggs, Dorothy), all who have preceded him in death.
After graduating from high school, Ray was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953. During his service he was transferred to Washington State where he met his future bride of 41 years, Nola Mae Graham. They married in 1954 and settled in Pasco, Washington to raise their family. Ray was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad and worked as a brakeman and conductor for over 30 years. He was on the road for most holidays and sacrificed much to support his family. He transferred to Spokane in 1976 and officially retired in 1991.
Dad's hobbies included camping and fishing but he mostly loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed loud and lively conversations over a good southern meal. The arrival of each grandchild brought him great joy and we will all miss him very much.
Raymond was preceded in death by his loving wife Nola, daughter Janice Parker (Jack) and daughter-in-law Kelly Casey (Mike). He is survived by daughters Kathy Best (Ken) and Teresa Wilhelm; sons Michael Casey (Kelly), and Patrick Casey. His grandchildren are Amber, Jared, Brandon, Ryan, Joseph, Brenna, Lane, Nicole, and Timothy. Great-grandchildren are Cassie, Alexis, Brenner, and Jacob. There are also several nieces and nephews that were very special to him.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Spokane for their caring and kindness during Dad's final days.
A celebration of life will be held at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley on February 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Military Honors will follow immediately at gravesite at Pines Cemetery. Viewing will be held on February 23 between 1:00 and 5:00 pm.
