Joe Alfred Ayers, 67, of Steele passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo. He was born June 30, 1949, to the late George and Mona Ayers. He worked at the Shelter Workshop for 25 years before he retired. He was an avid collector of tractor pictures and tractor books. He had a very special friend, Ralph Murphy, who would take him around to show him the new and different tractors and maybe even ride one of these tractors. He loved people and loved going to his church, Tyler Baptist.
Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by ghis parents, George and Mona Ayers.
Memorial services for Mr Ayers were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22 with Bro. Don Tims Jr., officiating. Interment followed at Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter.
