John Wesley Henley "Sonny", born September 30, 1946 in Greenville, Mississippi to J.W. & Mamie Henley who preceded him in death, along with daughter Darlene, 1 sister and 3 brothers. John passed away February 18, 2017 at Methodist Hospital Southlake after a lingering illness. Survived by his wife of 39 years Gwen Henley; Daughters Charmaine (Clifton) Brown of New York, LaTonya (Carter) Ketchup, Tiffany (Thaddeus Barnes) and Chisa (Lindsey Cooks) Henley both of Indiana. Sons John Wesley Henley III, Melvin Henley both of New York, Darren Henley of California and Kenneth Henley of Alabama. 2 sisters Shirley Little and Direne Henley both of Gary, IN and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 12 to 8:00 p. m. Family Hours 6 to 8:00 p.m. - Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Funeral service Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. - Washington Street Church of God, 2101 Washington St. Pastor Michael Dotson, officiating.
