Rodney Harold Walls Sr., 78, of Hanover departed this life Sunday, February 19, 2017, from the Cornerstone Hospital of Huntington, WV.

Born July 31, 1938, at Leatherwood, he was the son of the late Albert Jackson Walls (1903-1960) and Lula Hester Toler-Walls (1904-1940). In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Zola Pearl Walls-Browning-Blankenship-New (1927-2011), Georgie Irene Walls-Morgan-Miller (1929-2010), Eunice Walls-Walker (Deceased), and Mavis Walls-Hatfield (Deceased); his brothers, Harlan Walls (1923-Deceased), Arden A. Walls (1924-1991), Clinton Albert Walls (1935-2005), Clayton Walls (1935-Deceased), Dallas Dwight Walls (1930-2010), Travis Gwinn Walls (Deceased), Thomas Jay Walls (1954-1976) and Mayford Walls (1953-2014).

Rodney enjoyed bowling, boxing, wrestling, and watching Western movies. He loved doing woodwork. He had served in the U.S. Army, and he was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 29 years, Kim Walls of Hanover; his ex-wife, Betty Walls-Gazely; his daughters, Rhonda Walls-Lester, Karen Walls-Morgan & Glen Morgan, and Penny Walls-Hothcock, all of North Carolina; his sons, Todd Walls & Tiffany Walls of Oceana, Rodney Walls, Jr. of NC, and Joseph Walls of Hanover; his brothers, Jarvis Walls & Jennifer Walls and Dwayne Walls & Drema Walls, all of North Springs; his sisters: Gertrude Walls-Cline and Deborah Walls-Browning & Ora Browning, all of Hanover, Charlotte Walls-Maynor of Coal Mountain, Clara Walls-Cline & Homer Cline of Simon, and Maecene Walls-Toler & Jeff Toler of Saulsville.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Aaron (Monica) Testerman, Cory Testerman, Alison Jackson, Shandi Lester, Brandon Lester, Isaac Walls and Allie Lester; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Ryker, Israel, Ashlyn, Adalyn, and Genesis; his special friends, Ron Hatfield of Coal Mountain and Larry Ball of NC; his beloved pet dog, Gizmo. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Burial will follow in the Walls Cemetery at Hanover.
