Barbara A. Nissley, 91, of Columbia, passed from this earth to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 19, 2017. She was born in East Lampeter Township to David Carol Aulthouse and Cora Harnish Aulthouse. She graduated from Strasburg High School (1944) and Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing (1947) in the Army Cadet Nurse Corps Program. Barbara was an active member of Central Manor Church of God, teaching Sunday School, serving on the Mission's Team for over fifty years, and was a faithful prayer warrior. She was a charter member of the Society of Farm Women of PA #23, and served the organization as County Secretary and President. She was also State Director and State Treasurer. Barbara and her husband founded Nissley Farm Service in 1957, where she headed the Farm Machinery Sales and Service Business for 13 years after her husband's untimely death in 1965. She then worked for 10 years at Lancaster General Hospital.

Barbara married Andrew H. Nissley in 1948 and their survivors include four children: Josephine married to Carl Ettinger III, Notasulga, AL; Carole married to Glenn Binkley, Columbia; Lynn married to Deborah (Funk) Nissley, Lancaster; and Andrew Nissley, Jr., Brownstown. Barbara was so proud when her three granddaughters and six grandsons were born, and even more blessed when she welcomed her five great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons, three step-great-grandsons, and one step-great-great-grandson. Her family meant so much to her. Barbara is also survived by a brother: William E. husband of Gloria Aulthouse, Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by a sister: Anna Louise Jones.

The Memorial Service will be held at Central Manor Church of God, 387 Penn Street, Washington Boro on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. with Rev. Ed Rosenberry officiating. Private interment will be in Habecker Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Please omit flowers.
