Lois Barnes Jenkins ~

Tarboro, NC Lois Barnes Jenkins, 93, died peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017. She was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Scotland Neck, (Halifax County). She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; and her sons, Jimmy and Charlie. She is survived by her two sons, Bob Jenkins and wife, Evelyn of Fuquay-Varina, and David Jenkins and wife, Judy of Concord, Va. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Karl C. Jenkins and partner, Wendy, Jamie Munari and husband, David, Robert Jenkins and wife, Lindsey, Laura Jennings and husband, Jeff; and great-grandchildren, Charlie Jenkins, Evan Jennings, and Wyatt Jennings. Additionally, she is survived by her two sisters, Myrtle Anderson of Whitakers, and Betty Ann Grimes of Battleboro. Lois was a member of First Baptist Church in Statesville, for over 25 years, followed by membership for nearly 30 years at Zion Baptist Church in Union Grove. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Lois has left a legacy of love. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville, N.C., will follow. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 661 English Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
