Glen was born on June 26, 1951 in Spur, Texas to Glen V. and Gladys Hedgecock. He moved to Carlsbad with his parents at an early age. Glen attended Carlsbad High School where he enjoyed playing football and running track and field. He also enjoyed playing on a local softball team. After high school he got a job as a mechanic at a local garage where he became interested in stock car racing. After that he started working in the oil field as a compressor mechanic where he worked until retirement. Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was also an outstanding pool player. He spent a lot of time team roping and rodeoing with his son Ace and lifetime friend Terry Roper. He loved having cookouts and spending time with his family. Glen loved to have a good time and would often say, “you got to have an adventure”. Few people could match the character and personality that Glen had. He is survived by his wife, Terry; daughter, Sharla and husband, Richard Carr of Carlsbad; daughter, Jill and husband, Richard Barkley of Carlsbad; daughter, Alethea Britton and family of Carlsbad; daughter, Tera Hedgecock and family of Carlsbad; daughter, Tara and husband, Mike Fierro of Carlsbad; daughter, Patti and husband, Josh Hedrick of Carlsbad; daughter, Bobbie Calk of Loving and daughter, Kara and husband, Bubba Briones of Mesquite, Texas, as well as 16 grandchildren: Brittany, Brandy, Austin, Brody, Michael, Harley, Brittany, Steven, Shawn, Cody, Taylor, Paige, Paityn, Kaiden and Brodee. He is preceded in death by his father, Glen V. Hedgecock and son Ace. Services will be held at Sheriff’s Posse Arena on Friday, February 24th at 10:00 am with interment following at Carlsbad Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
