Bessie Lucille Fowler, 83, of Fort Scott, died Sunday, Sept 29, 2002, at Medicalodge at Fort Scott. She was born Aug 3, 1919, at Fort Scott to George W. and Janie Baker Davis. She married Glendel D. Fowler on Feb 1, 1938 at Fort Scott. He preceded her in death June 30, 2002. Mrs. Fowler worked with her husband on the farm, their milk route, a bus route and a bowling alley, The couple also worked together at Western Insurance company. She was a member of the Iza Stompers Square Dance Club, Eastern Star and First Christian Church.
Survivors include a brother, Edward Davis of Fort Scott; two sisters: Mildred Seitz of Fort Scott and Julia VanBuren of Boulder City, Nev; 20 nieces & nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Goldie Mae Bishard.
