Virginia C. Reid, the daughter of Stuart K. and May B. (Hays), was born February 2, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA. Ginny graduated from the Yeadon High School in Yeadon, PA in 1957.

On March 2, 1963, Virginia was united in marriage with Jerome D. Reid at the Yeadon-Blockley Baptist Church in Yeadon, PA.

Ginny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Ginny loved anything that had to do with her grandkids. They were her pride and joy and she talked about them any chance she had. She enjoyed baking, especially making cakes for birthday celebrations. She loved the lake and enjoyed spending time with her family there. Ginny enjoyed the friendships she made in being a part of the Belmont Club of Women, faithfully serving on the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Company #9 Auxiliary and the Mineral Baptist Church Hospitality Group.

Ginny died on Monday, February 20, 2017, surrounded by her family, at her home on Lake Anna in Mineral, VA. She was 78 years old. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Caldwell and her sisters-in-law, JoAnne Caldwell and Kathi Reid.

Those left to honor Ginny’s memory include her husband of almost fifty-four years, Jerry Reid of Mineral, VA; her children, Sherry (Rich) Feehs of Lorton, VA, Dave (Carrie) Reid of Toano, VA, Cindy (Brian) Moyer of Dacula, GA and Debby (Jeff) Pence of Newton, IA; her grandchildren: Joshua (Angie) Feehs, Caleb Feehs, Maryn Feehs, Jordan Reid, Jocelyn Reid, Justin Reid, Jayson Reid, Joanna Reid, Nate Moyer and Abby Moyer, Leslie Pence, Braden Pence, Isaac Pence, Sadie Pence and Zachariah Pence; her brother, Robert Caldwell of West Chester, PA; her sister, Martha (Larry) Bazar of West Chester, PA; her brother-in-law, Al Reid of Ridley, PA; her many nieces and nephews and her many friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Mineral Baptist Church in Mineral, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Company #9 Auxiliary 7100 Belmont Road, Spotsylvania, VA 23117.
