William R. "Bill" Sandman, age 66, of Cape May Court House passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

He was born in Somers Point, NJ to Charles W Sandman and Marion (Cooney) Sandman. Bill was a Cape May resident his whole life; where he and his former wife Nancy raised both their children in Erma Park.

He was predeceased by his father Charles and his son Michael William Sandman. Surviving are his daughter Jamie and son-in-law Richard Carder, his two grandsons: Trevor and Henry, his mother Marion and his five siblings: Carol (Steve) Wade, Betsy (John) Way, Bob (Sue) Sandman, Chuck (Kim) Sandman, and Rick (Maureen) Sandman.

Bill graduated from Wildwood Catholic and Miami Dade. He worked for Ocean One and Caesars Resorts for over 30 years and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #68. Recently retired, he was enjoying time with his family, especially flying planes at the Cape May Airport with his two grandsons. Bill was a huge baseball fan and a collector of model airplanes. His home was like a museum.

There will be a funeral service at 12 noon on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10 AM to 12PM. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery, 680 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204.
