Phebe Huff/Hough was granted 200 acres of land with her son Samuel Hough - Third Concession, Lot Seven, Osnabruck Township, Stormont County, as the widow of James Hough U.E.L.

17 Feb. 1784 - death of James Hough (1727-1784) who served in Capt. Morrison's Company, Second Battalion, King's Royal Regiment of New York (Enlisted 1781)- Source: Jeremiah French's 1816 Affidavit to the Second Heir & Devisee Commission in support of Samuel Hough's claim to be named heir-at-law to his mother Widow Huff's estate.

1785 location list - Mrs. Huff is on the list as a settler at Township No. 3 (Osnabruck).

Married to Henry Hawn after 1790, Phebe died in 1815, and was buried on her farm at Lot 7, Concession 3, Osnabruck Township.

The following children of James Hough and Phoebe Strickland were granted land as the (step) children of Henry Hawn U.E.L.
Mary, Rebecca, Hannah, and Eunice.

27 Dec. 1817 - a patent was issued to Samuel Hough for the Crown grant, 200 acres Lot 7, Concession 3, Osnabruck Township.
