Daugter of Shelton and Lucinda Childers Harris; born in Indiana where she married Simpson Ables(Abels), with whom she raised ten children in Nodaway County, Missouri. Late in her life, as a widow, she lived in Kansas City with her eldest son John, nearby her daughter Mary Ables Cook. She died at the age of 82, just 21 days after John's death.
