Cresswell, Elizabeth Marie

Elizabeth Cresswell, a long time resident of Ann Arbor, MI, died on March 21, 2003, in Arcadia, CA.

Growing up on Spring Street, she attended Mack Elementary School, and later, Ann Arbor High School, graduating in 1935. With a bachelor's degree and teaching credential from Eastern Michigan University, Elizabeth spent her teaching years in New Baltimore and Manchester, Michigan. For over thirty years, she was a favorite elementary teacher, and especially enjoyed helping young students learn to read.

For hobbies, Elizabeth loved to draw, paint, play cards, collect antiques, do interior decorating, and volunteer at church. Upon retiring and moving back to Ann Arbor, MI, Elizabeth became involved again at Zion Lutheran Church. She joined women's clubs and helped in the church library. She was loved by every one.

Elizabeth is survived by a daughter, Lisa Cresswell Combs, a son-in-law, David Combs, two grandchildren, Alex and Allyson Combs, all of whom live in Arcadia, CA; two nieces Sharon Bennett of Franklin, TN and Diane Leafblad of Edina, MN; an aunt, Margaret White of Ann Arbor, MI; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hinsley of Stock bridge, MI; and several cousins.
