Kalamo - A woman was found dead on the floor of her house, some two miles west of Ken's Corners, about five o'clock Sabbath morning, the 24th ult. The deceased, Mrs. Billingsly, had risen early, as was her custom, milked her cow, made a fire, put on the tea-kettle, and made other preparations for breakfast, and while walking across the floor fell instantly dead. A coroner's jury gave as their verdict, "Died of Apoplexy."

Mrs. Billingsly was nearly fifty-four years of age, had been the mother of ten children, eight of whom are living, was a woman of good reputation, as are also her children. The most painful part of the story is that she had been deserted by her husband for the last twelve years, who has lived, and still lives, in a very disreputable manner.

Note: Children were as follows:
Josiah Billingsley, Catherine Billingsley, Joseph Billingsley, Margaret Billingsley, Elizabeth Billingsley, Louisa Billingsley, Robert H. Billingsley, Alexander Cook Billingsley, Mary Jane Billingsley, and James Johnson Billingsley.
