A top college football prospect from Riverdale High School is mourning the death of his mother following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on Interstate 65 in Williamson County.

Stephanie A. Coleman, 42, died in the crash, which took place about 5:45 p.m. near mile marker 59, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Coleman, of Murfreesboro, is the mother of junior D'Andre Litaker, a four-star college football prospect with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee among others.

Two other people, including a 13-year-old passenger in Coleman's vehicle, were also injured in the wreck which closed all northbound lanes for several hours Tuesday night.

The 13-year-old is Litaker's sister. As of Wednesday morning, a family friend said she was hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

According to a preliminary report, Coleman was driving a 2010 G6 Pontiac south in the northbound lanes of I-65 when she struck a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on.

The Pontiac then came to rest in the median while the Jeep came to rest in the center northbound lanes.

The driver of the Jeep, identified as Brooks T. Baker Jr. of Corning, N.Y., as well as the Coleman's 13-year-old passenger, were taken to a hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries, THP spokesman Travis Plotzer confirmed.

All three people wore seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the report, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have played a role in the wreck.

No charges have been filed in the case.
